Don’t be in a hurry. Conservation is a field that requires immense patience. Treatments don’t happen overnight. And honestly, the field doesn’t have much to offer in terms of financial viability. Get into the field for the love of it. The growth is slow and steady. I volunteered at the Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery for 3 years. I started with documentation and slowly moved into the studios and worked on works of art on paper and easel paintings.
